week twenty-seven 2025
I don't know about you but last week was a blur!

I'm so thankful to report our twelve orders, all 2592 cards, are on their merry way! Most of the week was spent checking, counting, bundling, packing and shipping. It's the first time I'm working with this vendor and as mentioned, the logistics are a whole lot. I made sure I had a full two days of shipping so I could focus and take my time. Since Friday was a holiday, I made sure I was done by end of day Thursday so I could enjoy some family time.
We hosted our monthly Letter Writing Meet Up on Thursday too. It was great! We had a group six (if I remember correctly) guests. I was so present writing, I forgot to take pics! I did snap one of the outgoing mail that was left with us. But many more letters were written and taken then left behind. Believe me when I tell you, we shared the magic of snail mail! Afterward, we headed to the Montrose Saloon. Once there, we had an impromptu meet up with our friends Him + Her Vintage and Six Point Pet. It was a night filled with laughs, neighborhood chats and very little business. What a treat!
I took off Friday and Saturday, it was nice. Mr. Favorite, had a two of three California cousins in town. One from Palm Springs and one from Humboldt, Burlington, WI is where the majority of the cousins live. The Favorites have made a habit of getting together in July in Burlington, on Browns Lake. It's a cute town with a beautiful lake. We spent Friday on the lake with all the cousins and the last living Favorite Uncle and Aunt. It was time well spent. We headed home before fireworks to be with Scooby (our rescue pup), who gets stressed out and very angry at fireworks, his resolution is to bark at them to protect us. What a good boy.
Saturday, Tom and I spent the entire day enjoying the heat in our yard, with music, the pool and Scooby. We relished in our downtime and made no plans whatsoever. It was perfection! I don't always realize I need a break until I'm able to unplug. I hope you all were able to unplug a little too. It really feeds the soul.
By Sunday I was itching to get working on my to do list. I have a habit of stressing myself to the point of nightmares when something has been on my to-do list too long. And that's exactly what happened. Nothing like a nightmare to motivate you into action! I spent all day Sunday designing for Chicagoland Stationery Store Day. I'm waiting for feedback, so I won't show the designs yet, but I'll share a sneak peek. I ended up sketching eight designs and designing ten. That's about seven too many. I narrowed it down to share with my colleague, Tyler from Paper + Pencil. In the meantime, mark your calendars for Stationery Store Day - Saturday, August 2nd!
That's all I got this week. Thanks for following along!
