week thirty-three 2025
week 33! If you don't know, 33 is my most favorite number. When I see the number, I instantly feel hopeful.

Last week was a busy print week. I spent most of my time in back puling job jackets, counting paper, letterpress printing, cutting and scoring. We have quite a few orders shipping this week and every single one of them needed me to print for it. Some days I wish I could clone myself so while I print, I can also be cutting and scoring and counting paper and pulling job jackets. I'm wondering if it's time to consider hiring a letterpress helper. Our busy season is coming up quick and I haven't had time to print or design holiday yet. I'm hoping I can start designing more in the evenings now that summer is beginning to wind down.

Speaking of the summer wind down, we got in a couple fall items last week. We'll be putting these cuties out with all the fall arrivals in early September. I'm especially loving the vintage inspired washi tape! It reminds me of the Halloween paper cut outs we would use to decorate our home when I was a kid. So cute! So nostalgic.

We also got a restock of your favorite professional overthinker notebook and I'm not procrastinating, I'm doing side quests pouches. Our 2026 planners have started arriving too. We have more styles coming from Japan soon. Stay tuned! We're now carrying pocket Constitutions. I've been looking for the just the right pocket or purse size Constitution since January and recently stumbled on these and was instantly smitten. The size, flexible cover and design are perfection.

Random randomness...
•Lots of print time means lots of listening time. I took advantage of it by listening to two audio book thrillers. As mentioned before, I'm a big fan of the Libby app. My Chicago Public Library card gets me access to thousands of audio books on Libby. It's amazing and free to me. The first book was Vantage Point by Sara Sligar. I loved it! The family was a little reminiscent of the family in the series Succession. It was a bit predictable but still addictive. I couldn't wait to listen every day. If you like thrillers and family drama, give it a read or listen. The other book was None of This is True by Lisa Jewell which I loved even more! Another thriller but very different format. The story unfolds with snippets from a true crime podcast. This one had me guessing. Just when I thought I knew exactly what was going on, everything changes and quickly. It was amazing. I listened to it all weekend while working. Work doesn't really feel like work when you have an entertaining audio book.
•I spent a good amount of time in the kitchen last week in the evenings. I have a friend prepping for surgery and I wanted to cook for her. When my friends are suffering, all I want to do is offer comfort. Food is my way of showing support and comfort. One of my go to recipes for comfort is this delicious lentil soup recipe. I make one little addition to the recipe, I add a stalk of celery and as many celery leaves as I can gather to it too. It's warm and comforting and filling. Give it a try.
•Friday I had a lil' pre-birthday celebration with my girlfriends, Jaime and Kim. We spent time in my yard sipping on homebrew and wine then headed to Rojo Gusano for dinner. It was hot out but it's August, it's supposed to be hot and we embraced it. We ate, we drank, we laughed and enjoyed one another. And we looked cute doing it. It was the highlight of my week, maybe even month!
That's it for week 33! I'll be another year older next newsletter, hope you all find a moment to celebrate this week too.
