Letter Writing Meet Up outgoing mail

This Thursday is our monthly Letter Writing Meet Up! Join us for 2 minutes or the full two hours. We'll have our usual vintage typewriters available, all our fun pens and some washi tape to play with too. You can read more about our Letter Writing Meet Ups here

mother's day cards

I've been busy printing all the mom, dad and grad cards to make sure we're restocked for the Spring. If you're mailing a card to mom, now is the time to order! Here are some of our best sellers. If you need a gift, stop on by the shop. We have some beautiful boxed stationery, journals and pens as well as handcrafted letterpress cards too.

MSM logo design in progress

I also spent some time designing for a new client. I've always loved logo design and lucky me, that's what I'm working on! My instructions are to create a mid century modern logo. Something inspired by the signage you'd see along old Route 66. I'm loving it. Here's a little peek without giving away the client.

Paper + Pencil purchases

Early last week I had a lunch meeting with our paper pal, Tyler from Paper + Pencil. We met to discuss ideas for this summer's Stationery Store Day. We're hoping to make it bigger and better than last year's Chicago Stationery Store Day. It was lovely to talk shop and catch up on all things paper. Afterward, I walked with Tyler over to his shop. I haven't been in months and it was fun to see all the changes. I saw so many fun pens and stickers and stamps and all the things. Even though I don't need anything, I couldn't resist purchasing a few items.

We'll be showing at Sauced Night Market May 9 + 10 at Half Acre Beer Co. It's free but you gotta RSVP, so get on it.

Random, randomness...
• The Mr. and I celebrated our friend Andrew's 40th birthday. He's the owner of It's Lit Yoga Studio. The party was at an arcade and we got a couple games of skeeball and Pop-a-Shot in. Tom and I spent most of the evening hanging and chatting with Ben and Jesse from The Floriography Fellows. It was so much fun, I loved every minute of it!
• I mentioned last week I listened to 9 Perfect Strangers and how much I enjoyed the story. I watched the Hulu show based off the book. It did NOT disappoint. They took quite a few liberties and I really liked it. Read the book. Watch the show.
• I listened to The Firekeeper's Daughter by Angeline Boulley it's a Young Adult mystery and I enjoyed it. It's based in the Midwest and I loved learning more about Native American culture.
• I also listened to The Things we Leave Unfinished by Rebecca Yarros. It's a historical fiction - romance. It was fine. I'd probably give it 3 outta 5 stars but if you're a fan of long romance novels and World War II, try it out.

Annnnnnd Week 17 is in the books! Thanks for following along.
And to those who've reached out, I really appreciate all your kind words and feedback to these newsletters.
