week forty-four 2025

Hey letterpress fans. The print shop is all hustle with some bustle. I don't have much to report this week as I was behind both presses all week.

I did place several last minute holiday orders this week and am excited to show you what we got! But, not until it arrives. I also spent some time brainstorming with tom some new display ideas to get the most our of our space for the holiday season. The shop always feels overstocked and cramped two months out of the year. I'm constantly trying to maximize the space with intention. It's much harder than it sounds, I promise.

All that printing is in preparation for all our holiday shows! I'm listing the first few below with links so you can check them out. I'm hoping to get holiday out in shop starting this week. We'll be done by the week of Thanksgiving, if not before. I know there's a lot of talk of a General Strike, please keep in mind, this is aimed toward big businesses, tech and banks, not us lil guys. I know the world, America especially, is scary, uncertain, loud and just very, very dark. It's awkward for us small businesses to be asking for sales. Most of us are here, focused on creating spaces of joy and comfort and in my case, inspiring and creating too. If you enjoy these spaces and the small businesses in your area, it's important to keep supporting us in any way you can. Whether it be referring friends to us, leaving us a positive review on google or yelp, sharing our newsletter with others or making a purchase. Each and every way you show up for us, we truly appreciate it more than you realize. Thank you for allowing us to do what we do!

•I listened to three audiobooks this week. One humor, chic-lit and two thrillers. First up, I Hope This Finds You Well by Natalie Sue. It was a cute story filled with quirky characters and lots of laughs. A very easy listen, I liked it. Next up I listened to The Hunting Wives by May Cobb. I know, I know, everyone has watched the series on Netflix except me. I don't have Netflix but am considering getting it. The book was a crazy roller coaster of a thriller filled with love triangles, jealousy, bored rich housewives who love drama. It was a lot. And one of those books where your constantly annoyed with the main character. Like yelling in your mind again and again "what are you even doing". It was still a great read but yeah, the main character angered me. Lastly, was an "available now" suggested thriller audiobook on LibbyAll The Other Mothers Hate Me by Sarah Harman. It was good. Another slightly annoying main character who can't help but mess things up along the way but still fun. I did really enjoy the ending a lot. A fun little twist.

•Halloween at our house is always busy. We closed the shop early to be home to hand out candy. We gave out 1200 pieces from 4:30-7:30 and sadly left some kids candyless as we handed out the last piece. Mr. Favorite got our costumes together this year. Tom was Beetlejuice and I was Lydia Deetz. The kids and parents loved it!

Another week complete! Hope to see you at an event soon.
