week 49 2025
Hey, hey letterpress fans! It's your weekly lowdown.

Last week was all One of a Kind show, all week long. If you're not familiar with One of a Kind, it's our biggest show of the year. It takes place at The Mart and runs from Thursday to Sunday, the week after Thanksgiving every year. This year there were 600 artists and makers. We typically spend six to eight weeks getting ready. The show is costly, in all aspects: time, energetically and financially. We've done previous blog posts about what it takes to prep for the show, if you're interested, you can read about it here.

We spend Monday packing up all our goods and triple checking my ongoing check list. Then all of Tuesday building our booth so we can take Wednesday to mentally and physically prepare. Did I mention my days are usually 12 hours, leaving the house at 8am and getting home at 8pm? It's a marathon. While we had a good amount of customers, this year it wasn't what we had hoped it would be or what we needed it to be. It takes a lot of $6 cards to pay off a booth, parking and wages of helpers for the show. While it's a fun and energetic show and I love seeing all my maker friends in one place, I'm pretty certain this year was our last One of a Kind. Honestly, I'm a little disheartened but again, the time, the energy and the investment it takes isn't adding up. I'm gonna trust another opportunity will present itself next year.
To all who came out and supported us at One of a Kind, thank you! I know it was a very cold and snowy weekend. There's a lot of great markets out there, thanks for choosing One of a Kind. We really appreciate you.
We've adding some shopping hours to our brick and mortar! We wanna make sure you have time to get all your cards, decor, gift, wrapping and stocking stuffers. We'll be open the next two Wednesdays 11-6. We'll also be open Monday, December 22nd 11-5 and Tuesday, December 23rd 11-4. •I did some holiday shopping at One of a Kind! I absolutely adore Soap Distillery and love to buy them for Mr. Favorite's stocking. Beer and Cigarettes is my go to for him, it's delicious smelling. I also got Hot Toddy and Sequoia and Wild Sage. At the shop we use Limoncello, I prefer citrus for hand soap, it just smells clean to me and Limoncello doesn't disappoint. Treat yourself and get some! Or better yet, buy some host gifts and stocking stuffers for everyone on your list.
