week 47 2025

Hey, hey! It's your weekly wrap up from your favorite letterpress stationery shop. Before I get into what all happened last week, let's chat about Small Business Saturday. As you may know, Plaid Friday is this Friday, November 28th, followed by Small Business Saturday, November 29th. This is the time of year many small businesses go from "in the red" financially to "in the black". It's the kickoff to the holiday season and the time of year, us little guys shine! And did you know your dollars go further in your community when you shop local? They do! For every $100 spent locally, $68 stays in your community. That means you're investing in YOUR community, investing in your neighbors and neighborhood shop. Basically, you're our hero when you shop local!

We'll be rewarding our customers with a FREE card with every purchase, a FREE gift with any $50 purchase all week long (while supplies last). And on Small Business Saturday we'll have hidden gift cards throughout the shop all day plus FREE gift wrapping on purchases. We've been stocking our shelves with gifts and amazing stationery finds for months. Shop local. Shop early. Shop often.

letters to santa candle

I'm excited to announce our holiday stationery inspired candles will be back in-store this week! Christmas Cards is the perfect blend of Cypress, Fir, Cedar, Amber, Citrus, Cranberry, Cucumber & Peppermint. I burned through two of these last year all winter long, and they burn a long time - approximately 70 hours. Letters to Santa is a cozy blend of Molasses, Honey, Vanilla, Sugar, Nutmeg, Chestnut, Butter, Cinnamon, Lignin & Peppermint. It's cozy, festive and warm, just like Santa himself.

Last week the print shop was non-stop. We've already sold out of some holiday cards and best sellers and needed to restock for the busy holiday shopping season. On top of that, we have a BIG Valentine's Day order that needs to ship December 8th. Which is also the day I'll be returning from a week downtown at One of a Kind. It's a lot. But we'll get it done, like we always do. I spent over half a day just printing for that order alone. Speaking of One of a Kind, if you'd like complimentary tickets, stop by the shop and pick up a pass. Each pass is good for two all week long.

stationery themed hair claws

In-store we got in some more cute stationery themed items last week too. More hair claws have arrived - Pink Pearl Eraser, binder clip and mail truck. We added some beautiful ornaments this week - Letter to Santa, Santa as a mail carrier and Chicago skyline. Plus lots of everyone's favorite stationery - Original Crown Mill. We also restocked our brass wax seals and sealing wax, perfect for gifts or to add to your own collection. Stop in and see all the goodies! And don't forget, we're open Wednesdays thru December 17th.

a. at Begyle Holiday Market

Thanks so all who came out to Begyle Brewing's Holiday Market! What a great weekend. The vibes were amazing, the beer delicious and the makers the absolute best. We had a blast!

Random randomness...
•With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, I thought I'd share my most favorite stuffing recipe. This stuffing is so good and a nice change from the classic recipes. If you're wanting to change it up, give it a try.

•I listened to The Wedding People by Allison Espach on Libby. It was a fun and easy listen. I think I was listing to too many thrillers. This was certainly a palette cleaner. Two unlikely friends caught in a love triangle during, of course, a very extravagant wedding. It was just what I needed to make work a little more relaxing. I enjoyed it.

•My friend Kim's birthday was in early November and as a gift, Jaime and I got the three of us tickets to see Alicia Keys Hell's Kitchen. The story was great and the music was fantastic! The voices blew me away. I got goose bumps several times, go see it. We had a great night out celebrating Kim.

That covers week 47! I hope each of you have full hearts and bellies all season long.
