week 45 2025

afd holiday greeting cards

It was another busy week in the print shop! Lots of printing and lots of show prep. We put out holiday cards pack and you all were ready! We've already sold quite a few and have been rolling out more and more holiday daily.

Center of Order and Experimentation

We kicked off our holiday show season with a pop up at Center of Order and Experimentation. What an amazing place. The shop is beautifully curated and offers delicious coffee too. The vibes were great! If you haven't been, check it out.

New gifts at afd

We're ramping up gifts in the shop for the season. This week we got in the most clever and cute journals based off of vintage children's books but with sassy titles. And check out the Struggle Bus pencil cases! So cute. Maybe a little too on point...

pencil hair claws

Last Spring at Chicago Stationery Fest, I purchased a pencil hair claw and I've been loving it. I know hair claws are having a moment. I thought I'd test them out in the shop for the holiday season. We'll have a couple more stationery themed hair claws arriving soon. Keep an eye out!

Lycee French Market

This weekend I'll be at Lycée French Market! If you're in the neighborhood, stop by! Read all about it here.

Letter Writing Meet Up outgoing mail

Thanks to all who came out to our Letter Writing Meet Ups this year! We sent out a whole bunch of warm fuzzies monthly. I appreciate you helping us with our mission to encourage long distance warm fuzzies through snail mail. We'll start them again in Spring of 2026.

Random randomness...
•After my pop up Saturday, Tom and I went to dinner then Revolution Brewing. We really love Rev Brew and often visit during fall and winter when it's dark and cool out. While there, I got to see the Good Things Vending machine with my Birthday Blue Ribbon Card. Every time I see one of these machines I get excited. Every. Single. Time. They're amazingly curated and just joyful! What's better than hanging out at a Chicago small biz and stumbling upon a vending machine filled with local makers? So good.

•I listened to Intermezzo by Sally Rooney. It was interesting. I've decided I just don't love Sally Rooney. Her books are filled with mundane lives and interpersonal relationships that are awkward. Not really my jam, I guess. If you like awkward relationships, give it a listen.

Fa la la la la week 45 complete!
