magical year of snail mail!
You guys. I want to share all about my month of snail mail. Ok, it wasn't a year but it was almost 5 weeks of daily cards in the mail! Which is pretty much a year of snail mail, in my opinion.
I turned 50 in August and my closest friend, Jaime arranged for friends, colleagues and family of friends to send me birthday cards. My first card arrived from my other close friend, Kim's mom. Which is super sweet we've known each other for 26 years but I've never gotten a card from her before. I brushed it off as Kim was talking about my 50th birthday coming up. The next day I got two cards from friends and starting questioning if Jaime was behind this, she's just that thoughtful and loves snail mail as much as I do. It quickly became obvious there was a collective act to fill my heart with all the snail mail! Cards started coming in from friends of friends, Jaime's employees and friends I know have never sent a card in their lives. It was truly magical! Honestly, it was such a joy to come home to long distance warm fuzzies again and again. All handwritten, all amazing. I got letters, I got notes, I got postcards, I got birthday cards and even a few hand drawn masterpieces. It was the biggest warm fuzzy EVER! 2024 will go down as the magical year of snail mail in my book. I wish every human had a Jaime as a best friend. She sure knows how to make her people feel loved. If you wanna make someone feel loved, take after Jaime, send some snail mail. It's truly magical!
please note there are a handful of cards that didn't make it into the collage. The pics weren't in focus or I forgot to snap a pic once opened.
